Rubio says Cuba is threat to US

Cuba poses a "national security threat" to the US and the likelihood of a peaceful agreement is "not high", US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said.

Rubio said Washington's preference was "a diplomatic solution" but warned that President Donald Trump had the right and obligation to protect his country against any threat.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is pushing the European Union to consider associate membership for Ukraine as Berlin tries to inject life into the bloc’s enlargement process.

Högt belånade svenska hushåll står återigen inför risken för en räntesmäll, bara några år efter inflations- och räntechocken 2022–2024.

– Det kan inte uteslutas att vi hamnar tillbaka i den typen av scenario, säger Johan Almenberg, chef för Finansinspektionen, om risken för kraftiga räntelyft.

I mars i år var över 75 procent av svenskarnas bolån rörliga, enligt Finansinspektionen, och förra året tog fler nya bostadsköpare stora lån – både i förhållande till bostadens värde och sin inkomst.

Cognitive blind spots are undermining our ability to see the world as it is, rather than as we would like it to be. At the start of the 21st century, western elites generally assumed that globalisation, democracy and the free market were self-evidently good, and would keep spreading, creating peace. N o longer.  FIS, Swiss Federal Intelligence Service, has published a manual about cognitive blind spots. 18 different cognitive biases that hamper our thinking, such as “group think” (adhering to the cosy assumptions of our tribe), “anchoring” (relying exclusively on whatever information we see first, say on social media),  “confirmation bias” (only seeing data that reinforces pre-existing views),  “mirror imaging” (assuming others think like us),  “absence of evidence” bias (failing to think about the data we lack)  and “survivorship bias” (judging data only with success stories, not failures).
