 The NACHO Trade Is Taking Shape on Wall Street

NACHO, or “Not A Chance Hormuz Opens.” 
The idea is that the all-important shipping route for global energy supplies will remain effectively shut until the economic costs of its closure—including higher oil prices and accelerating inflation—start piling up.

12 maj. Stockholmsbörsen pressas i öppningen efter att förhoppningarna om ett fredsavtal mellan USA och Iran dämpats.

Börsen på helspänn – igen
För andra gången på mindre än en månad har fredsförhoppningarna mellan USA och Iran grusats och börshumöret bytts från optimism till pessimism. 

Förra gången var fredagen den 17 april när rykten om ett fredsavtal fick börserna att rusa med över 2 procent. Den gången smolkades glädjen redan dagen efter när president Trump stängde Hormuzsundet. 

Andra gången det rådde fredsbörshausse var förra onsdagen när medieuppgifter om ett fredsavtal gav ett börslyft på närmare 3 procent både i USA och Europa och dessutom sänkte oljepriset från 107 dollar till under 100 dollar fatet.

The U.S. and Iran are locked in a diplomatic stalemate over issues that have bedeviled the two sides for years, as the conflict settles into a gray zone that is neither war nor peace. 

Trump told reporters at the White House that Iran believed he would get tired or bored of the conflict, or feel pressure to end it because of rising energy prices. 

“But there’s no pressure,” Trump said. “We’re going to have a complete victory.”

In plain terms, Trump is claiming executive latitude to continue military action against Iran, while critics say the 60-day clock should force either congressional approval or a withdrawal. 

The fight is therefore both about presidential war powers and about whether Congress can actually compel compliance
