Medlarlandet Pakistan var det första att tillkännage att USA och Iran hade nått en överenskommelse, sent på söndagskvällen svensk tid.

”Båda sidor är överens om ett omedelbart och permanent upphörande av militära operationer på alla fronter, inklusive i Libanon”, skriver Pakistans premiärminister Shehbaz Sharif på X.

Fredsrallyt mattades av i Stockholm
Måndagen startade starkt med index-uppgångar på över 2 procent vid öppning på Stockholmsbörsen. Sedan dess har trenden pekat nedåt.

More than 100 days later, the US president is hailing a deal that underlines not only the Islamic republic’s capacity to withstand American-Israeli bombing but its newfound leverage from  severely disrupting energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz.

“It’s a very weak deal for the US considering what the stated objectives were at the beginning,” said Dan Shapiro, a former senior US official.

If the US escalated strikes as Trump had threatened, the Islamic regime — battered but not defeated — would retaliate against America’s allies in the Gulf and further exacerbate the energy crisis. 

If the status quo remained, the global economy would be hit harder.

Macron “Project Marengo” 

With less than a year left in office, Emmanuel Macron wants to be remembered as the French president who put Europe back in the technology race.

His decade-old ambition to turn France into a “startup nation” never fully delivered. Now Macron sees a second chance by positioning France as Europe’s artificial-intelligence powerhouse, leveraging the nation’s abundant supply of nuclear energy for data centers. He convinced Softbank Group Corp. to invest as much as €75 billion ($86 billion) in French projects.

His advisers have dubbed the AI effort “Project Marengo,” a reference to Napoleon Bonaparte’s victory over an Austrian army in 1800 at the battle of the same name, won through speed and decisive action. 

Marengo was also a political victory, securing Bonaparte’s hold on power.

ECB Expands Probe on Private Credit to More Banks
ECB is concerned about deficiencies in how traditional banks capture their exposure to private credit, despite it being smaller in the euro area than in the US.
Exposure to private credit is dominated by four lenders in Europe, including Deutsche Bank, Barclays, BNP Paribas and HSBC.

Finanskrisen och därmed eurokrisen tog sin början i Frankrike, när tre hedgefonder tillhöriga Frankrikes största bank, BNP Paribas, inställde betalningarna i augusti 2007.

On Thursday August 9 2007, financial markets suddenly seized up. Den dåvarande chefen för ECB, Jean-Paul Trichet,  pumpade raskt in 200 miljarder euro för att rädda bankerna.


A question for luxury brands now is whether handbags, typ Birkin, are more like expensive property or pineapples.

Cognitive blind spots are undermining our ability to see the world as it is, rather than as we would like it to be. At the start of the 21st century, western elites generally assumed that globalisation, democracy and the free market were self-evidently good, and would keep spreading, creating peace. N o longer.  FIS, Swiss Federal Intelligence Service, has published a manual about cognitive blind spots. 18 different cognitive biases that hamper our thinking, such as “group think” (adhering to the cosy assumptions of our tribe), “anchoring” (relying exclusively on whatever information we see first, say on social media),  “confirmation bias” (only seeing data that reinforces pre-existing views),  “mirror imaging” (assuming others think like us),  “absence of evidence” bias (failing to think about the data we lack)  and “survivorship bias” (judging data only with success stories, not failures).
