The AI age will bring about new demands for computing power, allowing the MacBook to remain a compelling product as a high-end workhorse for creatives and specialists.
iPad is a terrific device for those younger than 10 in need of a distraction.
Even highly capable rival tablets are a hard sell because they are outside of the Apple ecosystem.)
And I wonder, can this really replace my laptop and all I need it to do?
The answer to that question, 14 years after the iPad was first introduced, is still “almost.” Which, in practical terms, means no. And that’s the end of it.

Apple unveiled a new artificial intelligence-focused iPad Pro and a larger iPad Air
The new iPad Air looks like the prior version, but with a larger screen-size option and the M2 processor.
The 11-inch model now starts at $999, up from the prior model’s $799. The 13-inch model is $1,299 and up, an increase from a $1,099 starting price.
That makes it Apple’s most expensive tablet yet.
