EU:s miljardlån till Ukraina klart
90 miljarder euro - 969 miljarder kr

Genom von der Leyens fiffiga metod behöver pengarna inte tas via medlemsländernas budgetar. Gemensam upplåning är metoden, en metod som Sverige länge varit emot, men sedan enhälligt och helhjätat yrkat bifall till.

Von der Leyen försöker genom att be för sin sjuka mor Ukraina skapa ett prejudikat för denna finansieringsmetod, som Sverige och andra länder varit emot.

Ukraine says it has resumed pumping Russian oil through a pipeline into Hungary and Slovakia, bringing to an end months of deadlock over a €90bn (£78bn) loan seen as vital European Union support for Kyiv.

Soon afterwards, EU ambassadors meeting in Cyprus gave preliminary approval to the loan, as well as a 20th package of sanctions on Russia, officials said.


Ukraina finansieringsunderskott 211 miljarder kronor, även efter utlovat stöd och pengarna från EU-lånet. 
Viktor Orbáns omfamning av Vladimir Putin må ha kostat honom segern i det ungerska valet, men i sin sista kamp innan frånträdet från makten lyckades han ändå med sitt mål att få Ukraina att skruva på kranen i Druzjbaledningen. 
Därmed kan Ryssland också återuppta oljeexporten som uppskattas vara värd runt 39-41 miljarder kronor per år.  

Ukrainas försvar står inför ett finansieringsunderskott på 19,6 miljarder euro, eller 211 miljarder kronor, även efter att man räknat in redan utlovat stöd och pengarna från EU-lånet. 
Om Ukrainas försvar ska lyckas täppa till hålen i sin budget krävs nu ännu mer stöd från EU:s medlemsländer och då måste alla bidra.

Which Private-Credit Funds Believe Their Own Balance Sheets?

Many publicly traded private-credit funds say their assets are worth more than the market is willing to pay. 

If they really believe that, they should be aggressively buying back their shares.

An announcement alone doesn’t obligate a fund to follow through with repurchases. Even if a fund does buy back shares, it doesn’t necessarily make the stock a buy for everyday investors. 

However, if the fund is trading at a deep discount, the absence of buybacks should be viewed as a red flag that strongly suggests the NAV is overstated. 

If the fund won’t buy its own stock at a big discount, investors probably shouldn’t either.

Tehran’s proxy forces in Iraq have emerged as a potent threat.

These are the powerful Iraqi militias that helped to defeat the Islamic State in the mid-2010s after the group captured Iraq’s second-largest city, Mosul, in 2014. 

Today, those same militias have mounted sophisticated attacks against U.S. bases in Iraq and on civilian and energy infrastructure inside America’s closest allies in the war, such as Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. 

According to The Wall Street Journal, the militias are responsible for drone attacks on the Kuwaiti consulate in Basra and the Emirati consulate in Iraq’s Kurdistan region.

Cognitive blind spots are undermining our ability to see the world as it is, rather than as we would like it to be. At the start of the 21st century, western elites generally assumed that globalisation, democracy and the free market were self-evidently good, and would keep spreading, creating peace. N o longer.  FIS, Swiss Federal Intelligence Service, has published a manual about cognitive blind spots. 18 different cognitive biases that hamper our thinking, such as “group think” (adhering to the cosy assumptions of our tribe), “anchoring” (relying exclusively on whatever information we see first, say on social media),  “confirmation bias” (only seeing data that reinforces pre-existing views),  “mirror imaging” (assuming others think like us),  “absence of evidence” bias (failing to think about the data we lack)  and “survivorship bias” (judging data only with success stories, not failures).
