Hurricane Milton closes in on Florida

 


The US president has cancelled his trip to Germany,to oversee the response to the hurricane, urged those in the storm’s path to evacuate as a matter of “life and death”.

On average, the Atlantic basin experiences about seven hurricanes and three major hurricanes a year.

The Atlantic hurricane season begins on June 1 and runs until Nov 30.
