U.S. trade deficit in goods and services $61.51 billion in November
Monthly trade figures can be volatile and partly reflect movements in the U.S. dollar, which strengthened last year, though its rally lost steam in the fourth quarter.
A strong greenback tends to curb American exports by making them relatively more expensive on world markets, while reducing the value of imports.
