There Is an Alternative to the Dollar — It’s the Euro
All conversations about threats to the greenback’s role as the world’s reserve currency tend toward either imagining a collapse of American financial dominance,
or stubborn shouts of TINA — There Is No Alternative.
For Europe to enjoy some of the privileges that belonged to the US alone for decades, the euro doesn’t need to become the preeminent global currency.
Nor must the dollar suffer a fall from grace as deep as sterling did over the first half of the 20th century as the British Empire unraveled.
Federal Reserve interest rates had a big hand in crises in South America in the 1980s, and in Argentina, Thailand and other countries at the turn of the century.
I would also argue that the huge demand for safe dollar assets in the early 2000s led directly to the global financial crisis of 2008.
There will no doubt be more dollar-driven disasters outside the US.

RE: OBS att länderna i Euroland inte kan ha euros i sina valutareserver.
Det får bli Dollar, Yen, Pund eller svenska kronor mm.
