The Real Costs of Washington’s Use of Force

Since September, the Trump administration has conducted over 20 lethal strikes on vessels in the Caribbean and the eastern Pacific, alleging that the boats were carrying drugs from South America.

The administration is attempting to cloak these maritime strikes in the guise of counterterrorism efforts, labeling the victims as narcoterrorists and equating the drug cartels to supposed terrorist organizations.
