BlackRock’s assets rose to a record $12.53 trillion in the second quarter, buoyed by record-high U.S. stock prices and $68 billion of net client inflows. That is up 18% from a year ago.
The money manager closed its acquisition of private credit firm HPS Investment Partners on July 1, just after the end of the quarter.

Senator Warren Has a New Target on Wall Street: Private Credit
Senator Warren wants more scrutiny of the growing private-credit market and is focusing on agencies that rate its products.
Warren is requesting information from rating agencies on how they score the risk of private-credit products.
Warren also asked Treasury Secretary Bessent to assess the market’s size and potential threats to financial stability.
